Meaning per category – H

This small category contains only two signs, which indicate the built-up area. After these signs, a few important traffic rules change. Think of the rules that cover:

  • the speed limit (lower within built-up areas than outside built-up areas);
  • giving way to buses driving off at bus stops (only within built-up areas);
  • the prohibition of parking on a priority road (only outside built-up areas).

The following sign looks a lot like sign H-1 but has no legal meaning. After this sign you are not in a built-up area. This sign is used for neighbourhoods without a built-up area, or large municipalities with a smaller built-up area, but with a lot of buildings outside that built-up area.
