Meaning per category – F

In this category you will find several prohibitions and directives. These have to do with, for example, overtaking, turning around, who goes first at road narrowings and the mandatory place on the road for certain categories of vehicles.

The following signs indicate whether you are allowed to overtake:

f01

F-1
Prohibition for motor vehicles to overtake each other (so not just passenger cars)

f02

F-2
End of prohibition for motor vehicles to overtake each other

f03

F-3
Prohibition for lorries to overtake motor vehicles (so not just passenger cars)

f04

F-4
End of prohibition for lorries to overtake motor vehicles

These signs do not apply to mopeds, speed pedelecs and snorfietsen. They do apply to brommobielen.

The following two signs are always placed together, for example, at a road narrowing or obstacle. One sign is placed on one side of the situation and the other sign is placed on the other side.

f06

F-6

f07

Prohibition to turn around. This sign is usually placed on wide central verges right before an intersection, to indicate that it is not allowed to turn around on the intersection. It is usually too dangerous or obstructive on these points.

f08

F-8
