Meaning per category – F
In this category you will find a number of prohibitions and directives. These have to do, for example, with overtaking, turning around, taking precedence over narrowing roads and the obligatory place on the road of certain categories of vehicles.
The following signs indicate whether or not you are allowed to overtake:

F-1
Prohibition for motor
vehicles to overtake
each other (not just for passenger cars!)

F-2
End of prohibition for
motor vehicles to overtake each other

F-3
Prohibition for lorries to overtake motor vehicles (not just passenger cars)

F-4
End of prohibition for
lorries to overtake motor vehicles
The next two signs are always placed together. For example, when the carriageway narrows or you approach an obstacle. One sign is placed on one side of the situation and the other on the other side.

F-5
Prohibition for drivers to continue when approaching traffic is coming from the opposite direction

F-6
Drivers from the opposite direction should give way to
traffic approaching from this direction

F-7
No U-turn. This sign is usually on central reservations just before an
intersection, to indicate that turning is not allowed at the intersection. Usually this is too dangerous or hindering on these sections.

F-8
End of all prohibitions previously indicated by traffic signs. After this
sign, for example, temporary reductions in the speed limit no longer
apply. You often see them beyond roadworks.

F-9
End of all prohibitions previously indicated on electronic signs. After this sign, any prohibitions indicated on ordinary signs still apply!

F-10
Stop. This sign can indicate by whom or why the sign is applied. These signs are used, for example, by the crossing patrol (lollipop man or lady).
The following signs indicate that it is mandatory for these specific vehicles to drive on the specified carriageway or lane, or that this carriageway or lane ends.
